Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna reviewed the implementation of PC amp; PNDT Act and Clinical establishment Registration amp; Regulation Act, 2010 here at the District Advisory Committee meeting held in the Mini Conference Hall DC office.Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Syed Khan; Chief Medical Officer, Dr Vijay Basnotra; District Social Welfare Officer, Kanika Gupta; DySp HQ, Sahil Mahajan and other members of the Committee attended the meeting. At the onset, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Vijay Basnotra gave a brief account of the agenda of meeting and put before the Committee petitions nbsp; nbsp;seeking the fresh registration of the Private Ultrasound centres.Threadbare discussions were held on various issues which includes registration amp; renewal of ultrasound centres, enforcement of nbsp;preconception and prenatal diagnostic techniques Act and Clinical establishment Act, Regulation of GCC, Labs and Clinics, Offences and penalties, Provision of registration, Inspection, mechanism for monitoring and implementation of PC amp;PNDT Act, holding of IEC activities for general awareness etc.The CMO was asked to grant provisional registration to clinical establishments after fulfilling the requisite formalities. nbsp;The DC asked the CMO to conduct inspection of the registered unregistered clinical establishments and impose fines penalties to the defaulters as prescribed in the clinical establishment act.
nbsp; nbsp;The CMO was directed to deal with the unregistered nbsp;clinical establishments nbsp;as per nbsp;the provisions of the act nbsp;and quackery nbsp;should not be allowed nbsp;at all since nbsp;it poses danger nbsp;to the human lives nbsp;and their well being. Concerned officers were directed to conduct frequent inspections by the District appropriate Authority of all the ultrasound clinics especially in far off places areas and check whether all these institutions abide by the rules and provisions of the central Act and take strict action against defaulters if found. The DC said that the inspecting team should include a representative from the police department.For approval of registration of the Ultrasound centres, the DC directed that photographs videography of the premises of the centres and its surroundings should be presented before the members of the Advisory committee. The DC also directed for proper record maintenance of antenatal cases at all the Ultrasound centres in the entire district.
