Govt. Degree College Ramgarh organized an International Web Conference on Gandhian Philosophy The Power of Non Violence in collaboration with Attitude Change International, Darhal Malkan, J amp;K under the patronship of Mr. Rohit Kansal IAS , Principal Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, J amp;K. The whole event was organized under the guidance and supervision of Prof. Dr. Satinder Kaur, Principal of the College.At the outset, Prof. Dr. Satinder Kaur, Principal of the College formally welcomed all the eminent speakers, Guests and the participants. She stressed on the need to imbibe nonviolence and its relevance in the life. She urged upon the participants to follow the principles of Mahatma Gandhi and added that his teachings and experiments are more valid today than ever before, especially when we are trying to find solutions to worldwide greed, corruption, violence, arms race, war, internal amp; external aggression.There were two plenary sessions of this conference. Prof. Mammu Muchie was the chairperson of the first plenary session. Prof. Mammu Muchie is the nbsp;Consultant on UNESCO s Higher Education, Research and Knowledge Forum, Research Professor, Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa. Dr. Stephen Little was the chairperson of the second plenary session of the conference.
He is the Professor Extraordinaire at SARCH I, Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa.There were total nine lecture in two plenary sessions. In the first plenary session, there were five lectures by the various eminent speakers from the various countries. The first lecture was delivered by Dr. Diran Soumonni, senior lecturer, Graduate School of Business Administration, Wits University, Johannesburg, South Africa. The second lecture was delivered by Dr. Aslam Khan, Associate Professor, Deptt. of Gandhian amp; Peace Studies, School of Social Studies, Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Bihar. The third lecture was delivered by Dr. Harish CMR Nair, Foundert and Chairman, Common Health Awards CIC, London and Director, Assist, London, UK. The fourth lecture was delivered by Prof. Dianna de la Rua Engenio, President, Association, Respuesta Para La Paz, Argentina. The last lecture of the first plenary session was delivered by Dr. Stephen Little, London, UK, Professor Extraordinaire at SARCH I, Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa.In the second plenary session, there were total four lectures. The first lecture of this session was delivered by Dr. Ravinder Rena, Professor of Economics, DUT, Business School, Faculty of management sciences, Durban University of Technology, Durban, South Africa. The second lecture was delivered by Mr.
Raffy Tim, Senior News Reporter Anchor, GMA Network GTV , Manila, Philippines, Senior War Correspondent. The third lecture was delivered by Dr. Harish Kumar Tyagi, Prof. amp; Head, AIBAS, Amity University, Noida, India and the last lecture of the conference was delivered by Prof. Mammu Muchie, Consultant on UNESCO s Higher Education, Research and Knowledge Forum, Research Professor, Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa.The Valedictory session was conducted by Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Associate Professor, Department of English. She said that there is an urgent need to rekindle Mahatma Gandhi s Philosophy of Non Violence, peace, brotherhood and unity among the diverse people with varied culture, community and areas of this country. The Rapporteur for the first Plenary Session was Dr Shamsher Lal amp; Dr Anjali Bala and for the second Plenary Session was Prof. Risha Kumari amp; Dr Sandeep Kumar.At the outset, Dr Satinder Kaur, Principal of the College appreciated the efforts of the Convener amp; organizing committee viz., Dr Aditi Khajuria, Prof. Seema Sharma, Prof. Risha Kumari, Dr Sandeep Kumar amp; Dr Shamsher Lal for shaping the conference.
