agency new delhi: Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State Independent Charge for the Department of Space, met with the Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation ISRO , Dr. S. Somanath, on June 28, 2023. Dr. Somanath had come to New Delhi from Bengaluru to pay a courtesy call. During the meeting, Dr. Somanath conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the entire space scientists fraternity for the landmark Artemis Accord and International Space Station agreements that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had accomplished during his recent visit to the United States. Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed his happiness at the positive developments in India s space program. He said that the Prime Minister s agreements on the Artemis Accord and the ISS are seen as major achievements for India s space program. He also said that the Indian space program will continue to make major achievements in the coming years. Dr. Jitendra Singh also discussed with Dr. Somanath the progress of India s space program and the upcoming plans. He briefed Dr. Somanath on the Chandrayaan 3 mission, which is scheduled to launch in 2023. He also discussed the Gaganyaan mission, which is India s first human spaceflight mission.
